Toll-free number soon for PDS complaints

Just dial 1967, a new toll free telephone number that will soon be set up across the country to receive complaints about the working of targeted public distribution system (TPDS) providing subsidized food grains to the poor.

NEW DELHI: Women's safety and issues relating to it figure prominently in chief minister Sheila Dikshit's Working Report 2012 released here on Wednesday. The report details social security schemes launched as part of the Plan outlay in the 2012-13 budget where 65% of funds were allocated for welfare schemes, projects for the underprivileged , marginalized and social security.

This was the beauty of the “One Billion Rising (OBR)” campaign that pulled into various Delhi Metro railway stations on Thursday to promote the message: Stop violence against women.
